These are the results of the Gingerbread House Competition. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun for both the builders and everyone who admired them. 
Final tally for Gingerbread House Decorating is $165.24. The winners are:

We had nearly 100 members and visitors for Christmas Day Dinner in the Clubhouse. Member George Freelan was host and along with friends prepared ham, green beans, sweet potatoes and rolls. Everyone else brought extras, and LOTS of desserts. We had a hard time fitting everything onto the tables, a good problem to have.

Ladies’ Lunch Bunch will meet on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the clubhouse.  We will leave at 12:15.  Our destination for lunch will be Bill and Rosa’s in D’Hanis.  A sign-up sheet is on the table in the clubhouse next to our library.

ACI has recently opened a new free household recycling location in their Hondo yard at 616 Spaatz, on the north side of the Hondo Airport (left turn at 1st Hondo signal light, 1 mi north, left on Spaatz). It’s open 8-12 on Saturday mornings only. It’s attended by a couple of nice guys who will get the stuff from your vehicle and dump it all into a single big roll-off dumpster for later sorting in San Antonio. They take paper, cardboard, metal, plastic, and glass, no sorting necessary. No batteries, tires, oil, electronics, appliances or other large items; those should continue to go to the transfer station at the Medina County Barn on the north side of Hondo at 275 CR 241, on Saturday mornings 8-12.

Christmas Day Dinner

December 25 at 12:00 pm

Christmas Dinner will be Tuesday, December 25 at 12:00 pm.

Ham, green beans, sweet potatoes and rolls will be provided. Bring your own table service, 8 to a table. Please check with your table host to see what you should bring. Bring a dessert to share with the whole group.

Cost is $6.00 per person.

Christmas Eve Celebration

Monday, December 24 at 4:00 pm

Join us starting at 4:00 pm on Monday, December 24 at the clubhouse.  We encourage you to bring a potluck hors d’oeuvres for our supper.  We’ll play Christmas Bingo and have a Dirty Santa gift exchange.  A $10.00 gift is suggested for the exchange. Please bring your own table service.

It should be a fun filled evening!  Even Santa will be dropping by.

There was a nice turnout at the annual Christmas Program by the D’Hanis Elementary School. The children put on a very entertaining program in our Clubhouse.

Today, a new record was set for attendance to Ladies’ Lunch Bunch.  Thirty ladies carpooled to Castroville for lunch at The Alsatian Restaurant (aka The Old Alsatian Steakhouse) on Angelo Street.  As a reminder, there is no criteria for joining the group on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month.  The group meets each month during the year and has been meeting for over six years.  A sign-up sheet is placed on the sign-up table next to the library in the clubhouse.  We invite all members and visitors to join in the fun, camaraderie and good food.  As a member, please invite visitors and guests who are recent arrivals at LSC.  If you have any questions or suggestions for an eatery, please call Diana Stone.
