Hondo, Texas
Eight miles east of the Co-op, 40 miles west of San Antonio,
Hondo is predominately a farming community.
Population in the neighborhood of 8000 with several
small businesses ranging from hardware & building supply stores,
to furniture and even a Super Walmart and an HEB grocery store.
Town slogan seems to be "This is God's Country" and a sign
along US90 once said "This is God's Country, Please Don't
Drive Through it Like Hell"
The 777 Ranch is nearby offering a wide range of sporting
opportunities. Game animals from five continents are present.
The Raye Theater in downtown Hondo features first run movies.
